ACCOUNTANTS IN SURREY
Surrey-based, UK-wide in reach — and equipped for the cross-border work this county generates.Surrey is not one market. A tech business in Woking, a consultancy in Weybridge, a farm on the Downs and a landlord with a portfolio in Reigate need very different things from an accountant. TaxDigit works with all of them from our office at Parallel House, 32 London Road, Guildford, covering Woking, Godalming, Farnham, Dorking, Reigate, Redhill, Epsom, Esher, Weybridge, Camberley, Leatherhead, Cranleigh and Haslemere.
The county also has an unusually high concentration of UK subsidiaries of overseas parents and of directors who are not UK-domiciled. As chartered certified accountants and international tax advisers we handle both halves — the routine compliance and the residence, double-taxation and cross-border questions that a purely local practice would refer elsewhere.
Services across Surrey
The full compliance cycle plus the advisory work that actually changes the tax you pay.
- Accounts and corporation tax — statutory accounts and CT600s, with associated-company rules and the £50,000 to £250,000 marginal band handled correctly.
- Personal tax — Self Assessment for directors, landlords, consultants and private clients, including capital gains and foreign income.
- VAT — registration, scheme choice, partial exemption and Making Tax Digital filing.
- Payroll, CIS and pensions — RTI, auto-enrolment and the Employment Allowance, currently £10,500, where you qualify.
What working with us looks like
Digital by default, with a named accountant and a fee agreed up front.
- One named chartered certified accountant, not a rotating service desk.
- Records exchanged securely online; meetings by video, or in person in Guildford when that is more useful.
- Fixed fees set out in writing before work starts.
- International capability in house — residence, double taxation, non-resident landlords and overseas subsidiaries.
What is changing for Surrey businesses in 2026/27
The compliance calendar has moved more in the last eighteen months than in the decade before it.
Property income
Making Tax Digital applies to landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 from April 2026. Separate property income tax rates of 22%, 42% and 47% are due from 6 April 2027, two points above the main rates.
Employer costs
Employer National Insurance runs at 15% with a secondary threshold of £5,000. For many small Surrey employers the Employment Allowance of £10,500 now covers the whole bill — but only if you claim it.
Capital gains
Residential and non-residential gains are taxed alike at 18% and 24%, with a £3,000 annual exempt amount. UK residential property disposals must be reported and paid within 60 days of completion.

The towns we work across
Because the work is digital, where you sit in the county makes no practical difference to how we act for you. In practice our clients cluster around Guildford, Woking, Godalming, Farnham, Cranleigh and Haslemere in the west; Dorking, Leatherhead and Bookham in the centre; Reigate, Redhill and Horley to the east; and Epsom, Esher, Cobham, Weybridge and Walton-on-Thames to the north. We also act for businesses in Camberley, Farnborough and Aldershot on the Hampshire border.
West Surrey
Guildford, Woking, Godalming, Farnham, Cranleigh, Haslemere — professional services, technology and the construction trades.
East Surrey
Reigate, Redhill, Dorking, Leatherhead, Horley — owner-managed businesses and a significant landlord base.
North Surrey
Epsom, Esher, Cobham, Weybridge, Walton — private clients, international families and UK subsidiaries of overseas groups.
Switching accountant
You appoint us, we obtain professional clearance and the handover information from your current accountant, and we register as your agent with HMRC. You are not required to have a difficult conversation with anyone. Most transfers complete within a fortnight, and we will tell you honestly if anything in the previous accounts needs correcting before it becomes a problem.
Why a Surrey base still matters when the work is digital
Two reasons. Deadlines and thresholds are national, but the mix of businesses around you is not — Surrey has a far higher proportion of owner-managed companies with overseas connections, higher-value residential property and consultancy income than the UK average, and that shapes which questions come up. And when something genuinely needs a face-to-face conversation, being half an hour away rather than a video call in another time zone is worth having.
Frequently asked questions
Which Surrey towns do you cover?
All of them. We are based in Guildford and act for clients in Woking, Godalming, Farnham, Dorking, Reigate, Redhill, Epsom, Esher, Weybridge, Camberley, Leatherhead, Cranleigh and Haslemere, among others. Because the work is done digitally, your location within the county makes no practical difference.
Do I need to come into the office?
No. Almost everything is handled online, with records exchanged securely. If a face-to-face meeting would genuinely help, our Guildford office is easy to reach and we will arrange one.
Are you regulated?
Yes. We are chartered certified accountants and international tax advisers.
Can you help with an overseas parent company or overseas directors?
Yes. That is a core part of what we do. We handle UK subsidiary compliance, transfer pricing questions, residence and double-taxation issues, and Companies House identity verification for directors based abroad.
What does it cost?
Fees depend on the size and complexity of the work. Tell us what you need and we will put the fee in writing before anything starts.
